Description

The COLOURLOCK GLD Solvent helps removing stubborn dye transfer stains on leather. It should only be used if the mild or strong leather cleaners do not help. Discoloration on light-colored topgrain leather is becoming increasingly more common. This usually affects car and furniture leather and is caused by various garments and materials, such as jackets, trousers or belts. The dye rubs off of blue jeans, textiles or leathers, onto the surface of the upholstery. This happens due to a chemical reaction between the dye and the leather colour. The pigments sink into the surface, so this discolouration cannot be removed using common commercially available cleaners. Always try to remove the stains with COLOURLOCK Mild or Strong Leather Cleaner first. Also use the Leather Cleaning Brush. If this doesn't solve the problem, the stains must additionally be cleaned with GLD Solvent. Lightly damp a white cloth with GLD Solvent and carefully clean the stains. Always test in a hidden area first! GLD Solvent slightly dissolves the colour coating. When trying to remove dye transfer stains, the leather colour can also be removed. Be very careful not to remove too much colour. If too much colour is removed or visible stains remain, such areas can be recoloured with COLOURLOCK Leather Fresh. In areas where a high opacity is required, apply several layers of Leather Fresh and dry in between with a hair dryer. To avoid further stains, the leather should be regularly protected with COLOURLOCK Leather Shield. Only apply Leather Shield on clean leather.
