Major upgrades such as improved acoustics, new design, new materials, and new technology make this stethoscope a must-have. The single-piece tunable diaphragms are on both the adult and pediatric sides and allows for better audibility of high frequency sounds. The smooth surface of the single piece diaphragm is easy to attach and easy to clean. Open bell versatility allows the pediatric side to convert to a traditional open bell by replacing the single-piece diaphragm with a non-chill sleeve. The next-generation tubing has a longer tubing life and features improved resistance to skin oils and alcohol, plus it is less likely to pick up stains.
