Description

This incredible ORANGE colored Cymbidium hybrid is yet another amazing success from the Mukoyama Nursery in Japan! It produces a boatload of flowers when it reaches full size - there around 50 flowers in the pic of the specimen plant! Clearly this hybrid was bred for floriferousness, and very successfully, too. Orange is an uncommon color in orchids, probably because it is difficult to breed for, unlike yellows and various shades of red. All of these plants we're offering are in the 2" pot stage (and hence, about two years from reaching blooming size - your mileage may vary, depending on your growth conditions and growing skills). These plants are vigorous and hardy, making them an excellent orchid for beginners looking to build confidence in their growing skills! An official name for this hybrid has not yet been registered with the Royal Horticultural Society, so we're currently referring to it as "My Darling Clementine" for the blooms strong resemblance to Clementine "tangerines". Actually, Clementines are hybrids between sweet oranges and mandarin oranges (somewhat fitting since this Cymbidium is also a hybrid). The pics of the plants themselves show a single-growth plant, and a two-growth plant. The pot size is a 2" square pot; please note the pen in each pic as a scale reference. IMPORTANT NOTE: These plants are NOT IN BUD/BLOOM when shipped. PLEASE look at all the pictures in this listing so you know the condition/size of plant you'll be getting. These plants are still a couple of years from blooming!
