Description

When Chris reed first decided to create a ginger ale made with fresh ginger in 1987, he went to ucla library, pre-internet, to research into the early formulas for soft drinks. He figured if he went back far enough in time he would find recipes that worked with real ingredients. Then he found a book from the 1780s, before the first bottling plants even existed, that talked about brewing sodas from whole roots, spices and fruit juices in the kitchen. Chris knew he had found what he was looking for. These early soft drinks, besides being delicious, were also used as herbal tonics. After two years of much trial and error, reeds ginger brew was ready to launch.
