Description

Siamite is new innovative material with unique physical and optical properties. Siamite is quite similar to natural in many ways. Homogeneous color Hardness 7-7,5 Density 3-3,5g/cm3 Refractive index 1,61-1,64 Melting temperature 1650-1750 C Ideally compatible with the wax casting technology. Impossible to see the difference between natural gemstone and Siamite. Siamite completely imitates brightness and colors as well as relatively close in hardness and density of many gemstones: emerald, sapphire, topaz, aquamarine, citrine, peridot, garnet, kunzite, morganite and others. Moreover, unlike glass and many synthetic stones, Siamite does not change color and can not be destroyed during wax casting with stones. Siamite is a hybrid of glass and minerals. It has best properties from both materials by combining them together. This is so called hybrid material is composed of nano sized crystals of spinel, sapphire, cordierite and other crystals that are homogeneously distributed in the amorphous matrix.
