Designed for actors ages 8-15, this user-friendly book (with accompanying CD) is a simplified version of Paul Meier's industry-leading instructional materials on accents and dialects. It includes the following seven dialects: Australian, Cockney, Deep South, French, New York, Northern Ireland, and Standard British English. (It may also be useful as a less demanding introduction to stage dialects for the mature student.) Coaching many famous actors in films (Tobey Maguire, Tom Wilkinson, Kris Kristofferson, and Mark Ruffalo, for example), Meier has also served as voice, speech, dialects, and Shakespeare performance professor at leading drama schools in England and America.
