Pipsissewa is a low growing evergreen perennial reaching 6-8 inches tall with toothed, evergreen leaves. Dark green, leather leaves form a whorl near the ground (although this is not a true basal rosette). Stems bear drooping white to pink flowers on terminal umbel.
