Description

An observational masterpiece by Albrecht Durer, capturing a multi-textured, multi-colored subject. By his careful attention to detail, the hare is rendered not only accurate, but lifelike. See, for example, the small reflection of a window in the creature's eye. Durer's hare was widely appreciated by his contemporaries-particularly Hans Hoffmann-who incorporated versions of it into their own work on at least a dozen occasions.
