Description

These are detailing tools used on between-center work, where the grain is running parallel to the lathe bed. Spindle gouges are used to create coves, beads and other profiles on goblets, vases, bed posts, candle sticks and other spindle projects. Made from high speed steel and then properly hardened and tempered. It will keep a sharpened edge about six times longer than carbon steel and resist "blued" softening from overheating during grinding or from heavy turning. It comes with hard White Ash handle and brass ferrule. Long handle is 12 inches long with the tool being 6 1/4 inches in length. Overall length is 18 1/4 inches.
