Description

This ready to hang, gallery-wrapped art piece features a juggling clown on a unicycle with two people in a box, another person in a large ring and a woman with an accordion in front before a crowd of people in a circus tent. Edgar Barrios Ortiz was born in Tacna, Peru in 1960. After graduating in 1990 from the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes del Peru (or, ENBA) with Honorable Mention, he exhibited for many years in Peru and developed his own unique style. His bright colors and romantic scenes transport the viewer to ancient Venice and his experience with different kinds of craftsmanship and use of fabrics make his medieval images all the more vibrant and real. Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating high quality fine art reproductions. The attainable excellence that Giclee printmaking affords makes the reproduction virtually indistinguishable from the original piece. The result is wide acceptance of Giclee by galleries, museums and private collectors. Gallery wrap is a method of stretching an artist's canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides and is secured a hidden, wooden frame. This method of stretching and preparing a canvas allows for a frameless presentation of the finished painting.
