The Theatre Sarah Bernhardt is one of the two theatres built in the 19th century by Baron Haussmann and is located at Place du Chtelet, Paris. It is now known as Theatre de la Ville (meaning the City Theatre). The painting by Henri shows a partial view of the theatre as part of a bustling scene of people coming and going in the snow. The palette is typical Henri--neutral with some strong reds and browns and deep blacks.
