The manufacturer's packaging states product is stainless steel. Additionally as a test ...we ran these strainers thru dishwasher and submerged the strainers under water for 24 hours to test with no sign of rust once so ever.

CONS ? As the strainers do collect EVERYTHING , it is strongly advised to clean them daily by removing and simply stuffing a little tissue paper into strainer and twirling it around. When you remove the tissue, the hair and contents will cling to the tissue paper. If they're is any soap scum or toothpaste residue...simply rinse this off, as this will not clog your drain.
