Constructed of our own proprietary Ripstop ballistic material, our TUFF series dog beds are the most chew-proof cushion beds available. These densely woven covers will resist tearing and scratching, and the Ripstop pattern of fibers prevents small holes from growing in size. We have also replaced zippers with a single industrial Velcro closure to eliminate any zipper-related emergency vet visits. The smooth, canvas-like texture of the bed allows dirt, fur, and liquids to slide right off, so cleanup is a breeze. Most spills and messes can be simply wiped up, but the removable cover can be machine-washed in cold water on a delicate cycle if needed. The orthopedic mattress is composed of two layers: a 1.5" thick top layer of memory foam (4.5 lb/sq in density) for comfort atop a 3.5" thick layer of dense support foam for optimal support.
