Are you at all concerned about: A weak job and housing market? Volatile stock, bond and commodity markets? Serious worldwide budget deficits? Our growing trade deficit? A costly and ever rising national debt? Overwhelming unfunded entitlement liabilities? Near zero returns on savings? A polarized and inefficient political system? Scary European finances? A weakening global economy? Well, me too! We all have a choice to make, especially if you are a nervous senior like yours truly. We can all visit the ballot box every year or two in the hope that our representatives will find the courage in the next decade to start earning their pay. Highly unlikely, for sure. Or, We seniors can immediately start the process of protecting our children and grandchildren from the loss of dignity, prosperity and freedom surely headed their way. The one thread that weaves through each of the above listed challenges is high and rising health care costs. Collectively, we can reverse that trend without the help of one politician. Longevity is killing us, and our shallowness will bury us and our younger loved ones unless we act now. From our selfless action will arise global leaders who will then transcend politics and make the tough decisions absent in todays world. Read, act, reap.
