This piece is rustic, untreated copper. Like other copper jewelry, electroformed pieces should be kept dry and kept away from harsh chemicals. Here is one of my series of Ocean Beach scenes in glass! The pendant is a fused glass cabochon, layers of blue, white, and clear glass with silver creating the browns and greys of the landscape. The sky in this scene is clear (you can see through it in the pictures to the shadow behind the pendant). The glass is then wrapped in copper and electroformed, the cord is black leather, and the clasp is silver. The cord measures about 20" in length.6. This is a unique piece of glass that I made using ivory white, and sterling silver. The glass is layered with the metal, fused, then cut and fused again to create a modernist abstract miniature piece of art. I then use a process called electroforming to frame the glass in copper. The pendant itself measures about 48mmx36mm (including the bail) and is strung on a lovely copper chain that measures about 18" in length and has a lobster claw clasp.7.
