The Harrisville Designs Backstrap Loom is based on the Peruvian backstrap loom that's been used for centuries to make distinctive, colorful woven sashes, straps and bands. It's a loom you actually wear around your waist, so you can use it anywhere. With this traditional method, you can have fun weaving your own unique and colorful bands for your guitar, roller blades, ski boots, or whatever you choose. The colors in the warp are yellow, blue and orange, enough to complete 2 projects. The kit consists of a sturdy hardwood Backstrap Loom device with nylon belt, and comes with 2 yards of 100% wool warp, pre-threaded through a heddle, plus 100% wool weft, and a shuttle beater. Of course we have included illustrated instructions, too. Suitable for ages 9 and over.
